So if you're familiar with my work, you'll know I love all types of weddings. Big to small and everything in between. There is something so special about a true elopement. Just you, your partner, an officiant and photographer. Plus a witness or two. In this case, I got to be a witness for Erin & Mike and I loved that. It was a quiet, intimate and romantic celebration that was perfect for them.
Erin reached out to me to capture her celebration and it sounded entirely charming from the start. Their ceremony would be held in their stunning backyard and we would venture into the forest behind their house for portraits and then take Mike's car out for more photos at a local campground nearby.
Another thing that I think is so meaningful is when you can return to the place you said your vows and celebrated your love. So how special is it when that place is your own backyard? A place you spend a lot of your free time in? It's hard to beat if you ask me.
Right after they tied the knot, we had a celebratory champagne spray which is always so fun. With their pups included, it was just next level. So much fun.
I knew that Erin was the B-E-S-T best when she swapped her shoes for gumboots and headed off into the forest. Adventure, romance, dogs? This day was already pretty damn incredible.
Climbing our way out of their ravine, we were off to the next and final location for some more photos with a different vibe. Leaving the pups behind for these, we were off and running. Erin had the most stunning dress with personal touches and I was so excited to be able to get another round of portraits in with them in another spot with a new look. Thats the bonus about multiple locations, the variety is so fun!
All in all this was such a special day. Being chosen to capture your day is always an honour and its something I take to heart when you plan a very intimate celebration and I am invited into your space and into your life to capture it for you. That kind of trust sticks with me forever.
I am so happy I could create a beautiful gallery for these two amazing people.
