OK.ok.ok. I have been excited to blog this wedding forever. Honestly it's such a shame that social media only has so much room for photos. This wedding was special to me for so many reasons. For starters, I adore Ucluelet. I've been travelling there yearly for the past 15 years. First, with my husband when we were just dating (it's where we got engaged) and now I take my girls there too. It's such an amazing place. I just cant get enough. It's truly my favourite place on earth.

But enough about my love for Ukee, let's move on to the two lovers I captured getting married at Black Rock Resort. This place is one of my all-time favourite wedding venues. You have the stunning building with sweeping views of the ocean, the food is incredible, the staff is amazing and OMG the portrait locations on site and nearby!!! If you have a chance to visit the spa and the lounge- don't pass it up! Surrounded by beauty everywhere you go, I always have so many suggestions for my couples getting married out there. In all of my adventures, I've found the best spots but really, Big Beach and Browns Beach are right there and you truly don't need to leave for incredible photos.

So Carissa and Lucas are total gems. I knew it from the moment we connected. They were excited about their photos, they had ideas and were down to make it happen. Anything for the shot - and I love that! Climbing rocks, getting romantic in an elevator, taking the time to explore multiple beaches. Match made in heavennnnn.

So their day started with getting ready photos, Carissa had the most beautiful details ready for me and in her suite they had this beautiful wooden table I moved to the best light and set up a gorgeous flat lay before we moved on to the details of her dress and getting ready.

After we got the shots with Carissa, I scurried over to Lucas' room and we got some fun getting ready moments with his parents and friends as well. The day was off to a spectacular start!

On Vancouver Island, you truly never know what you are going to get for weather. When it comes to the west coast of the island, you REALLY never know what you are getting. We totally lucked out with a gorgeous sunny day with justttt the right amount of clouds. No wind, no rain, just sun. It couldn't have been better.

After that it was time to head to the ceremony. Carissa had decided she wanted to do a first look with her Dad before the ceremony and it was so very special. The perfect way to start their walk into the wine cellar and down the aisle.

The ceremony was here. The reason all of this is happening! And honestly, the wine cellar where Black Rock hosts many ceremonies is stunninggggg. You have this incredible view, this grounding, intimate atmosphere and elements of the beautiful coast. It was magic. These two had an intimate group for their ceremony, and included their super sweet pup who lounged during their vows, waited for his turn to bring the rings and then came over all excited when everything was done! It was perfect, just see for yourself.

Before joining the family for group photos at Big Beach, we snuck in a few portraits at one of the most iconic spots at Black Rock. This gorgeous little balcony thats really amazing from every angle

Next, we were at Big Beach which is actually just right outside the resort (talk about perfect) we had family portraits and then portraits of the newlyweds there as well. Did I mention they were down to have fun!? Up on the rocks, spraying champagne and just having the best experience possible

From here we stopped on our way to Browns Beach (literally on the other side of the resort) and took a few photos in the elevator. They had requested, sexy romantic photos and I said- say no more! Tell me your photo dreams- lets make it happen!

Now it's time for the portraits and the beach that scream west coast. I could have stayed out there with those two for hours, quite literally. It was the perfect way to end their coverage. I knew I wanted to end the portraits with some landscape shots with the two of them and I spotted the perfect place. Yes, Ill run up a hill in the sun for the shot- don't worry!

All in all it was an amazing day. a photographers dream. Stunning venue, beautiful weather, lovely couple. What more could you ask for?
