Have you ever wondered what goes into a wedding day?

There are truly so many things. Of course, it totally depends on your details. The venue, guest list, vendors, style etc. If you want to keep it simple but epic, an elopement or intimate wedding is truly the way to go. Sarah and Aldous reached out to me looking to plan an intimate celebration on Vancouver Island. Living on the eastern side of Canada, they were open to ideas, suggestions and dreams. Together we planned a pretty awesome day. They told me they wanted intimate and relaxed. They told me they wanted a waterfall and forest. I told them - say no more, I've got you covered.

Their day started

At a family members home with stunning views and meticulously care for grounds. It was the perfect place for them to get ready, say their vows, pop some champagne and capture some family portraits. We also explored the beautiful property for some photos of the two of them. The bride Sarah had this incredible one of a kind STUNNING floral dress. Her whole look was giving Bridgerton vibes. It was so classy, flowy and elegant I really was floored by her. I had seen a photo of her dress previous to their day, but the look she put together took it to another level. Also, I watched the entire Bridgerton series earlier that year when I was at home snuggling my newborn so it just gave me the best feels ever. Its funny how shows can take you back to a time and place of your life, anyway- thats a story for another day.

These two were really amazing

For several reasons. First, their sweet, quiet and undeniable connection was something else. It was so beautiful to see them together on their big day. They opted for getting ready together (cuteeee) so instead of having a first look between them, they had a first look with their guests which were close friends and family. It was so touching.

They said their hand written vows in the sunny backyard and I'm not sure there was a dry eye around. They took a moment to have a cheers with family, capture portraits and we were off to the next crazy gorgeous part of their day.

So back to the beginning

They had told me they wanted a waterfall, so a waterfall they were going to get! I knew of one that was nearby but a bit of a hike. Well these two in their wedding wear make the trek look effortless and we made it no problem. Up and down stairs, steep hill- no match for these two. Taking in the scenery for portraits and special quiet moments was everything. Once we captured all the forests/waterfall magic, I whisked them back to their family and friends to continue their evening with a private dinner and celebrations. It was one for the books and more proof that your day can be absolutely anything you want it to be and I am here to help you dream big.
